Accessibility Statement
Effective September 15, 2026. Last updated September 15, 2026.
We want this site to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast.
The standard we build toward
We build this site toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard we aim at and measure against.
We are not going to tell you the site is perfect. Accessibility is ongoing work, and being straight with you about the rough edges is more useful than a badge.
What we have done
- A skip to content link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
- Every control shows a visible outline when you reach it with a keyboard, including every field on the contact form.
- Every form field has a real label, not just grey placeholder text.
- The contact form's error message is announced by screen readers and is tied to the form, and it never uses color alone to tell you something went wrong.
- Every image has alt text, and images that are purely decorative are hidden from screen readers.
- Icon only buttons and links have names a screen reader can read out.
- Each page has one main heading, and headings run in order without skipping a level.
- The mobile menu keeps keyboard focus inside itself while it is open, closes with the Escape key, and puts focus back on the button that opened it.
- All motion on the site respects your system setting for reduced motion. Turn it on and the animations stop.
- The whole site works without JavaScript, and it reads correctly with images off.
What we know is still imperfect
We would rather list these than pretend they are not there.
Contrast on our main teal buttons
Our primary buttons use white text on the practice's teal brand color. That combination measures about 2.8 to 1, and the Level AA target for text that size is 4.5 to 1. Changing it means changing the brand color itself, so we have chosen to tell you rather than quietly redesign around it.
Every action behind those buttons is reachable another way. Our phone number, our email address, and our booking link all appear as plain text links in the footer of every page, where contrast passes comfortably.
The map on the contact page
The contact page includes a map from an outside company. We do not control its markup, and it does not show a clear outline when you land on it with the keyboard. The studio address is written out as text right next to it, and there is a plain directions link, so you never need the map itself to find us.
The spam filter badge
The contact page loads an automated spam filter, which places its own small badge in the corner. That badge is built by an outside company and we cannot change how it behaves.
Text in images
Our logo contains the practice name as part of the artwork. It carries alt text, so a screen reader reads the name correctly, but the letters inside the image will not resize with your browser's text size setting.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us. A specific report helps more than anything else we could do on our own. Let us know what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what tool you were using, if you know it.
- Email: handsoftime.wellness@gmail.com
- Phone: (602) 380-7829
We will get back to you, and if you cannot use part of the site, we will help you get what you need another way: by phone, by email, or in person at the studio.
How we test
We check this site with the keyboard only, with a real browser's accessibility tools, and by measuring color contrast directly rather than eyeballing it. We re-check when we change the site.
We do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Those tools do not actually fix the underlying page, and many screen reader users turn them off on purpose. We fix the markup instead.
